2020 Ford Bronco

Ford first announced the return of the Bronco at the 2017 Detroit Auto Show. While there is still a lot that's unknown about the new 2020 Ford Bronco, Ford has revealed a few details, and there are rumors about what could be included on the SUV.

Powertrain and Performance

The Ford Ranger is powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, so it's possible that the Bronco will also have this engine under its hood. In addition, Ford has confirmed that a hybrid Bronco variant will make its way onto the market as well. Seeing as the Bronco and the Ranger share a platform, there are rumors that the Bronco will also have some of the features currently in the Ranger, like electric power steering, a 10-speed automatic transmission and the two-speed transfer case. There's also a chance that the Bronco will offer a seven-speed manual transmission.

Exterior Features

Little is known about the exterior of the 2020 Ford Bronco, but it's possible that it will debut with a removable top and removable doors for added functionality. It's also likely that the SUV will have solid rear axles and utilize straight lines in its design. Not only are the vehicles sharing a platform, but Ford also announced that the Bronco and Ranger will share a frame.

Updated Technologies

There's a good chance that the new Ford Bronco will debut with the latest SYNC® 3 system, which would allow you to send messages and listen to music using Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration. With the same platform as the Ranger, the Bronco could also offer similar driver-assist technologies, such as the Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking and the Rear View Camera.
